Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a contract between you and AXM Intelligence LLC, a Wyoming (USA) limited liability company that owns and operates Scribefy ("Scribefy", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using scribefyapp.com and the services offered there (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Scribefy connects to your own Plaud account, syncs the list of your recordings, and transcribes the recordings you choose, with speaker labels, AI-generated notes and chat. Scribefy is an independent service: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Plaud. Plaud, Plaud Note, Note Pro and NotePin are trademarks of their respective owner and are referenced only to describe compatibility.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. One account is for one person; sharing an account or reselling access is not allowed.
3. Your Plaud connection
To use Scribefy you authorize it to access your own Plaud account. You sign in with your own credentials, either directly on the site (a verification code sent to your Plaud account email) or through our desktop helper on your own computer. You confirm that the Plaud account is yours and that your use of Scribefy alongside Plaud is your decision and your responsibility, including compliance with Plaud's own terms. We only access recordings that belong to the account you connected, and we never share credentials or tokens across users.
We are honest about the dependency: Scribefy reads your recordings through your Plaud account. If Plaud changes how its service works, some or all Scribefy features could be affected. That risk is one of the reasons the product is built so that your transcripts export freely at any time and your audio always keeps its home in your Plaud account.
4. Recording laws are your responsibility
Laws about recording conversations vary by place, and many require the consent of one or all participants. You are solely responsible for making sure every recording you sync or transcribe was captured lawfully. Scribefy processes recordings at your instruction and does not verify how they were made.
5. Your content stays yours
Recordings, transcripts, speaker labels, notes and chat messages derived from your audio are your content. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the Service: to fetch a recording when you request its transcription, to process it through our transcription and AI providers, and to store and display the results to you. We do not sell your content and we do not train AI models on it; transcription and AI providers process it only to return the result you asked for (see the subprocessor list in the Privacy Policy). You can export transcripts as TXT, SRT or Markdown and notes as Markdown or PDF at any time.
You must have the necessary rights to the content you process, and you may not use the Service for content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights.
6. AI output can be wrong
Transcripts, speaker labels, summaries, notes and chat answers are generated by automated systems. They can contain errors, mislabel who said what, or miss context. They are provided for convenience and are not professional advice of any kind (legal, medical, financial or otherwise). Review the output before relying on it for anything that matters. If a transcription run comes out wrong, re-transcribing the same audio is free.
7. Plans, minutes and billing
All prices are in US dollars and are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. Charges on your card statement appear under AXM Intelligence, the company that operates Scribefy, rather than the product name. Subscriptions (Steady and Unlimited, monthly or yearly) renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- Free plan. 300 transcription minutes per month at no charge, on our standard engine. Unused free minutes do not roll over.
- Minute packs. One-time purchases of transcription minutes with no expiration date. Pack minutes are consumed as you transcribe and are personal to your account (not transferable or redeemable for cash).
- Steady plan. 1,200 minutes per month on our premium engine. Unused Steady minutes roll over up to a cap of 3,600 minutes.
- Unlimited plan. No minute meter. Subject to fair use: your first 100 hours of fresh audio each month run on our premium engine; past that, transcription continues, unlimited, on our standard engine. The fair-use window resets on your renewal date and unused premium hours do not accumulate.
You are charged once per audio file; transcribing the same file again costs nothing, and recordings you skip cost nothing. Metered plans (Free, packs, Steady) spend plan minutes per transcription; Unlimited removes the meter.
We may change prices or plan structure. Changes never apply retroactively: they take effect at your next renewal, and we will give you reasonable advance notice so you can cancel first. Taxes may be added where required by law.
8. Cancellation, refunds and the 30-day guarantee
You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for; you keep access until then, and there is no partial refund for the remainder of a billing period.
30-day money-back guarantee (annual Unlimited). If the annual Unlimited plan is not for you, email support@scribefyapp.com within 30 days of purchase. We refund your yearly payment minus the value of the audio you actually transcribed, deducted at a rate no higher than our standard minute-pack rate, and support processes it within a few business days.
Plan upgrades handled through the in-app trade-in convert the value of your eligible unused minutes into a credit that is applied to the new plan's price. Trade-in credit can only be spent inside Scribefy; it is never paid out as cash and is not refundable.
Except for the guarantee above and any rights you have under applicable law, purchases are non-refundable.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service for unlawful purposes; upload or process content you have no right to process; probe, disrupt or overload the Service; attempt to access other users' data; resell, sublicense or white-label the Service; or use automated means to bulk-extract data other than the export features we provide.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep Scribefy available and useful, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever discontinue the Service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your transcripts, and your audio remains in your Plaud account regardless.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, create risk for other users, or fail to pay. "Abuse" means things like account sharing, reselling access, fraud, or automated bulk use that has nothing to do with your own recordings. To be explicit: using a lot of the Unlimited plan is not abuse. Passing the 100 premium hours in a month simply switches you to the standard engine as described in section 7; heavy legitimate use is never, by itself, grounds for suspension. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you the chance to export your content. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how).
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AXM Intelligence LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim (or USD 50 if you paid nothing). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold AXM Intelligence LLC harmless from claims arising out of your content, your recordings (including how they were captured), or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court or protect intellectual property in any competent court. Nothing in this section removes consumer rights that the law of your country of residence grants you and that cannot be waived by contract.
15. General
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice on the site (or by email) before they take effect, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
